Gravity

It is amazing how a a single word (or lack thereof) from one person can make or break your day, whether they realize it or not. It shouldn't matter, but it does. One person should never have SO much power.

I wish I could break free, but more than that, I wish I didn't have to, and I have prayed about it so often. I try to push forward, but the pull of your gravity is almost as strong as that which holds the universe together.

I used to be your best friend and side kick, and now instead, I feel like I've been abruptly kicked to the side; it breaks my heart and confuses me so much. I know it isn't my fault because I haven't done anything but be a good friend, but I always internalize blame, which makes things more difficult to deal with.

I knew things would be a little different, but I didn't expect them to be THIS different.
I know this sounds whiney and emotional, and others have bigger problems, but I miss my best friend so much.

Time for Five on Friday!

So my life has been a whirlwind lately, but I'm back!

one-My NEW job!!!
So, in an earlier post, I mentioned that I had some big news...well, I am the new chorus teacher at Mountain View Intermediate school!  I am so hyped up, nervous, scared, excited and basically just a roller coaster of emotions!  Mostly, I'm just grateful that God granted me the opportunity to try out teaching! I believe that I will be great!

two-old job
I have one week left as the Group Sales/Catering Director for the Boiler Room...a part of me will miss this job and MOST of the people I worked with...but seriously...I'm ready to be done.  Time to start a new chapter in life!
three-Pentatonix
I got to see this band at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on Wednesday and they are my new favorite!!! They do original songs and popular music covers entirely a capella.  And the bass singer has an extremely sexy, deep voice...that helps (he's in the far left corner)! ;)  Watch this video of one of their latest covers:

four-old navy cardigan
I'm working on getting more "teacher clothes" and Old Navy was having a great sale! I ordered this one and a black one! New clothes are always great!

five-girls weekend
Next weekend, after my last day of work (which will probably consist of two hours saying goodbyes and not much else), I'm headed to Hickory to see my two very best friends from college.  Words can't come close to describing how much I miss them! So excited for a fun weekend with them!

Weekend Shenanigans: Busy busy busy

So, I've been really really bad about not posting...but I've been SO busy.  It was like a week of Mondays last week.  I had two job interviews (which I will post more about when the results are officially official), three concerts over the weekend and I started watching The Walking Dead (umm ADDICTING)!

Sami's Shenanigans

Friday:
But about my weekend...it was super amazing! Friday morning I had an interview at a school and got some AMAZING news about an hour and a half later!  Then I had to work, but after work, me and a few girlfriends had front row tickets to see Francesca Battistelli.  She just so happens to be my favorite Christian artist and I got to meet her which was SO amazing!

Umm can you tell that I was excited?! And she told me she liked my dress! (Sorry for fangirling).

Bri, Lexi, Steph and Me...front row seats, baby!!!

Francesca was amazing! If you haven't listened to her, you should!!!

Saturday:
Saturday I spent the day at home for the most part and then had a ticket to go see Jars of Clay with some random guy I had never met in my life.  His mother had rehearsal so she gave me her ticket...can anyone say "set up?"  Frustrating AND awkward, but nevertheless the concert was super awesome and I got to meet them too!!!

EPIC mustache and super talented!

Sunday:
My parents group had to go sing at this little bitty church out in the middle of nowhere, so I decided to go with them (Homecoming=delicious food).  After that, one of my friends from Overlook invited me and a couple of friends to his church where they were putting on a concert.  It was called As Time Goes By and was a collection of broadway songs about life, love, and the passage of time.  Lots of talented people; I was impressed!

Can't wait to share my good news with you! Hopefully I'll have a little more time to blog this week!!!

Weekend Shenanigans: Impossible Things are Happening Every Day!

So, this weekend, and the past couple of weekends for that matter, have been consumed with Cinderella! We opened on Thursday and guess who was getting sick? Me!  Not good at all!
So, anyway, I spend Thursday on vocal rest...no talking until show time! The show went great!
Friday, I was still feeling bad, but thought I was a little better, so I spent the day in partial vocal rest, downing Throat Coat and Emergen-C like nobody's business!
Saturday Morning, I woke up with no voice! Thank goodness for Prednisone, Z-pac and tons of prayers!!!
My voice returned and I was good to go Saturday and Sunday!
I'm still a little congested, but overall today hasn't been too bad! And now for a few pictures from the weekend!!!

 1. Me, My Parents and the Prince
2.  Bored at work on Friday--Duck Dynasty lover for sure.
3.  Opening night gift from our stage manager, Amanda! "Break a Leg, Have a Ball, Be Smart, Don't Suck"
4.  Me and my stepsister/best friend, Rachel
5.  Two of my favorite fellas...Timothy made a foam finger that says "Cinderella #1" on one side and "Go Prince Chris" on the other...so special... :D
6.  Mine and Heather's traditional show picture...love this one!

My favorite picture from the show, with my favorite diva girl!!!

 Dancing at the ball!

Right after the transformation! SO cool!

There are no words for this face!!!

What a magical, wonderful, scary weekend! So thankful for all the prayers sent up and so glad I'm almost better!

5 On Friday

Yay! This is my first 5 on Friday link up! I think it looks super fun, so I thought I'd try it.

1.  Big Sexy Hair Spray

Good grief, this stuff will hold your hair during a category 5! It has kept my chignon in tip top shape every night of dress rehearsal and last night during the show! Let's hope it keeps it up!

And for 17.95, you really can't beat it!

2.  Let's Stay Together

This song has been on repeat lately! Don't know what it is about it, but seriously...so good.

3. Organic Throat Coat Herbal Tea

For my overtired voice and my body that is trying to get sick during a show, this stuff has been a MAJOR lifesaver!  Thank you, Traditional Medicinals! Click here to get your own, or if you're in Franklin, visit
Room Full of Nuts, my favorite health food store in town!

4. Warm Days

I LOVE summer.  That is all.

5.  When People Do Nice Things

When people do things for you without you having to ask, I am reminded that despite what is being flashed all over the media, there are still good people in the world!  And I have amazing friends and family!

Happy Friday!

The Woman You Are Today

So, I saw this pin on Pinterest today, and it really made me think.  "Would the girl you were yesterday admire the woman you are today? If not, adjust for desired results."
Wow...that's some pretty heavy stuff.

I look back on my "yesterday" and there are DEFINITELY some things I'm not proud of.  However, those things I am not proud of have defined the adjustments that I wish to make in my life.
I am not perfect by any means, but I feel as though I am becoming more like the woman I desire to be.
Over the past year and a half, I've worked really hard to "adjust for desired results."
I'm still Abigail, but in many ways I have grown; I am different, and I think the old me would be happy to see the differences in the new me.

I haven't made these changes alone, that's for sure!  I've had lots of support from friends, family, and people I look up to.  I've also had many prayers sent up for me.  I know that prayer works, because without it, I wouldn't be where I am.  This being said, don't stop praying friends, because goodness knows, I still have a LONG way to go!

I am learning to be happy with myself.

I'm finally chasing my dream of becoming an educator.

And I'm just trying to be more happy in general.
My problems are minuscule compared to others!
