Symphonic bliss

Just got back from a wonderful day in Asheville with Teej!!!  It was pretty much perfect except for the combination of cold wind + little black dress = Abigail-cicle.
The events:
On the way to Asheville for some reason we thought we missed an exit while singing broadway tunes loudly and obnoxiously.  We didn't miss it though...we're just dumb.

When we got downtown at five-ish we were both starving so we ate dinner at Doc Chey's; its our favorite Asian place we've found so far!  The food is SO delicious and it has "pan-Asian" cuisine so it has everything-Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, etc.

After dinner we saw some friends out facing the cold like we were.  We stood around and talked for a little bit and then window shopped a little and found our way into the new Urban Outfitters.  WOW, I love that store...it was a good thing I didn't have extra cash on me or it would have been gone. :D  Then we hung around in Malaprop's until  45 minutes before the concert.  It is a really cool bookstore and cafe that has a really warm, cozy feel to it.

The best part of the evening was definitely the Symphony though.  It was more than perfect...I think I cried about five or six times.  There is something about music that just moves me like nothing else.  The songs performed were so powerful!  Seeing Di Wu play on the new Steinway and Sons piano that had it's debut performance tonight was also pretty amazing.  She is such an awesome pianist; her interpretations of the piano solos in Rhapsody in Blue were creative and quite novel.  I loved watching her play...especially since we were sitting in the front row.  It was the best Christmas present ever!  I think I'm changed forever as corny as it sounds.  Not only was it pleasurable and inspring but it was also a learning experience.

OH! And I sat by a GIANT POODLE and TJ sat by an old lady that threw her food crumbs and tin foil all over him.  Quite funny.....  :D

On the way home, we passed Krispy Kreme and the light was on...so what do you think we did?  Well first we tried going in, but the dining room was closed and we got briefly depressed until we realized there was a drive through.  We got donuts and coffee and laughed uncontrollably the whole way home!  A perfect finale to a perfect evening!

Love,
ME
