This Thursday after work, me and three other friends left for a bachelorette weekend in Jacksonville Beach, FL! What started out as a semi-normal trip (as normal as it can be with four crazy, fun girls) turned into a big adventure really quickly!
After chowing down on some delicious Chic-fil-A in Clayton, several miles down the road we were joking about making a pit stop at the Mall of Georgia in Buford. Well...then we heard a pop and before we knew what was happening we were spinning out of control and hit a bank on the side of the road. Bri's tire had blown! We all walked out completely unharmed, but definitely a little super shook up! It was the most scared I've ever been in my entire life! God was looking out for us!
The sad blown tire. :( |
So after some debate and some vacation determination, we ended up at the mall anyway...waiting almost two hours for the bride's fiance to bring us another car to drive. We got lots of funny looks hauling all of our luggage into Barnes and Noble and then the movie theatre! Mall sleepover, anyone?
The Imax didn't close until 3 so we waited here forever. |
The car finally got there, and after praying really hard and picking up one more girl, we arrived at our hotel at 6:00 am Friday morning and went straight to sleep! We woke up sore and decided to just throw on something cute and comfy and walk down to the beach and explore the little beach town! The water was a little chilly, but it was definitely beautiful and exactly what I needed!
Friday night our bride got sick, but she was such a trooper the whole time! Nobody lets a little sickness ruin a fun trip! Our room had a DVD player in it, so we rented Pitch Perfect and watched it! I feel sorry for the people rooming beside us, because we were laughing so hard!
Saturday we went shopping at an outdoor mall in the POURING rain! Thank goodness for umbrellas and a huge Forever XXI that kept our attention for a couple of hours! We really wanted to go out dancing that night, but the clubs we found were either 21 and up (We had a couple of 19-20 year-olds in our group), closed, or sketch-ball, so we stopped at a little beachy dance floor for thirty minutes and then left because it was not happening at all (and yes, I used "happening").
We ate some great food at some really neat places! Joe's Crab Shack was, by far, my favorite place! I love the fun atmosphere! We even got to dance on tables and Stephanie got a "Congratulations Dance" from all of the guy waiters at the restaurant!
Be sure to read our bibs!!! Hilarious! |
Our fun, beach-boy waiter! |
How am I going to explain that I got crabs in Jacksonville to my Fiance?!? Heehee! |
